As a smaller niche supplier, we are not obliged to offer a SEG tariff to everyone and this is currently only offered to supply customers with solar and an SE battery, . However, we actively choose to offer all of our customers a payment for their exported solar energy, that is higher than the leading SEG offerings. Our export tariff does require Flexi-Orb or MCS registration of the solar system.
At Social Energy, we will pay you 5.6p/kWh for all of your metered export, compared to 5.5p/kWh as the highest SEG offering (based on tariff’s published as at the 02/12/19). Our Export tariff is variable, this means it may change up or down in line with market conditions, if it changes we’ll be sure to let you know.
But, what’s more important is – export is always less valuable than using the energy that you generate in your home. As you’ll pay around 14p/kWh to import energy to your home, it’s much better for you to store your free solar energy in an SE connected battery, to use later, rather than exporting it for 5.6p/kWh.
Our clever AI technology also works to maximise the value of the solar energy that you don’t use in your home, by providing valuable services to the National Grid, that you get paid for.
So all in all, we offer a higher paying alternative to SEG tariffs, that give you additional benefits through our clever technology.
