Social Energy is not an Energy provider, therefore we are not able to buy or sell energy on behalf of our customers.
This means we are not a SEG provider.
We do pay our customers for the Grid Services they provide each month and you can read more about this under the article "How are savings calculated?"
You are able to arrange for a SEG provider to pay you for your exported energy on top of your monthly Social Energy credits and you can find a list of available tariffs on the Ofgem website.
Once you have decided which company you would like to sign up with, you will need to contact them directly and ask them to set you up with an account. They may send you some paperwork that will need to be filled out and sent back to them.
They may ask you for an Export reading which can be taken directly from your electricity meter and a copy of your MCS certificate, if applicable. If you no longer hold a copy of this, you will need to contact your system installer who may be able to help.
If they didn't register your system at installation or your installer is no longer in business, you may be able to contact MCS directly but Social Energy don't hold a copy of this information as we weren't present at point of sale.
If your chosen SEG provider asks you for a G98/99 form - this will also be something your installer will need to help you with.
