Why are you contacting me now?
We wanted to reach out and provide an update since our last email in February. We're thrilled to share that Social Energy is now a part of Levelise Limited. Our mission remains the same - to help homeowners like you with batteries make the most of energy markets and save on your energy costs. We're passionate about making energy markets accessible to everyone and working towards a greener future. By joining us, not only can you reduce your carbon footprint, but you can also earn payments for your valuable participation. We noticed that you already have the necessary equipment, and we believe there are additional savings you could benefit from.
How are payments calculated?
We directly contract with National Grid to deliver services that are usually offered by large-scale batteries and power plants. Each month, we share 70% of that income with residential households like yours. All according to everyone’s contribution. The remaining portion is reinvested in our company to cover research, development, and operational costs.
Will the offering vary in the near future?
Absolutely! Our aim is to continually enhance our offering for your benefit. We are actively exploring opportunities to expand our operations by incorporating additional assets. This means we're looking into integrating electric cars, heat pumps, and other innovative solutions. By doing so, we can increase your savings even further. We want to make sure you have access to the latest advancements that can optimise your energy usage and maximize your financial advantages. Rest assured, we are dedicated to constantly improving our services for your benefit.
What are the likely payments I will get over the coming months?
In 2022, we paid out an impressive £854,400 to our customers for optimising their batteries. On average, each dwelling received around £150, providing a significant help in mitigating the increase in the cost of living. In 2023, we have been seeing a decline in energy prices. As a result, we expect the direct payments to be halved. However, it's important to note that your self-consumption savings and payments for energy exported won't be affected. We want to reassure you that our commitment is to ensure you're better off financially. We only make money when you do.
What additional benefits I will get by joining?
In addition to the direct payments we make, we want to highlight how we optimise the performance of your battery. Our aim is to ensure that both the charging and discharging processes are as efficient as possible. By doing so, we help you avoid energy losses that could occur if the battery is not operating optimally. This optimisation translates to approximately £75 in energy savings per year.
Moreover, if you have a time-of-use tariff, we can further increase your savings. We achieve this by strategically charging your battery during off-peak periods, without negatively impacting your self-consumption. This can provide an additional £100 in savings.
The best part is that all these savings will be instantly reflected in your energy bills. We are committed to providing these benefits to you at no extra charge.
What do I need to do?
Since you already have all the necessary equipment, the next step is simply completing the sign-up process in our app. Once you've gone through the sign-up, we can immediately begin optimising your battery and ensuring that you start reaping the benefits. Our team will work diligently to make sure your battery operates at its full potential, maximizing your energy savings. Moreover, we will arrange for direct payments to be made to your bank account, so you can enjoy the financial rewards without any delay. Completing the sign-up process is quick and easy, and it will allow us to get started on optimising your energy usage right away.
When I will get paid?
Once we have provided the service, we follow a straightforward payment process. One month after delivering the service, we receive payment from the National Grid. As soon as we receive these funds, we promptly transfer your share directly to your bank account. This ensures that you receive your rightful contribution to the contract without any unnecessary delays. Our aim is to make the payment process as efficient and seamless as possible for you, so you can enjoy the financial benefits in a timely manner.
Do I need to change energy supplier?
No, You have the flexibility to choose any energy supplier you prefer. Our services are independent of your energy supply arrangement. However, we highly recommend considering a time-of-use tariff. By switching to a time-of-use tariff, you have the opportunity to further enhance your system returns. This tariff structure allows you to take advantage of different pricing rates throughout the day, enabling you to optimise your energy consumption and maximize your savings. While the choice is ultimately yours, we believe that a time-of-use tariff can provide you with even greater benefits and help you make the most out of your residential battery system.
Why do I need to sign a contract?
The reason we require a contract is because we have contract directly with the National Grid, and there are certain commitments and guarantees we need to uphold in order to deliver our system effectively. This contract not only protects us but also safeguards your interests as our valued customer. It ensures that you receive the services and payments that you are signing up for. Our goal is to provide you with a reliable and transparent experience, and the contract helps us maintain the necessary standards and deliver on our promises. You can have peace of mind knowing that we are committed to fulfilling our obligations and providing you with the best possible service.
Can I terminate your service?
We ask for a minimum of two months’ notice, but we have never enforced it. Hence, we can remove you from our services within 3 days of your request. The length of time is dependent on the contracts in place with National Grid and the number of systems still operating to meet those needs, but we will endeavour to follow any requests to terminate as quickly as possible.
Should my system be connected to the Internet?
Yes, we utilise your broadband connection to operate your battery effectively. However, you'll be glad to know that the amount of data we utilise is extremely low. It's comparable to streaming just one movie per month. Rest assured, our operations won't burden your internet connection or cause any significant impact on your data usage. Your broadband connection will continue to serve its primary function seamlessly while allowing us to optimise your battery's performance and provide you with the best possible energy savings.
Why is this service only available to me now?
Our offering was previously subject to you signing up to our energy supply service. This is no longer a requirement which means you can now sign up for our services without impacting your current energy supplier or the rates you receive with them.
