If you're not sure if your meter is a SMART meter one of just get in touch and one of our experts can look for you.
This might help first though:
SMETS1 Smart Meter - Is a first-generation smart meter, which sends meter readings automatically to an energy supplier. SMETS1 meters only work as smart meters with the energy supplier who fitted it. If you switch to another supplier, your smart meter will still function as a meter, but will not send readings automatically. There is a government led scheme to 'adopt' these meters into the Data Communications Company. This will enable us to communicate with your meter so that we can trade with your battery earning you savings.
SMETS2 Smart Meter - A second-generation smart meter will send automatic readings to any energy supplier you switch to. You can recognise a SMETS2 Meter, as this type of meter has an extra box attached to the top which is the communication hub and has a number of lights including WAN and HAN.
