Let's see if I can help you with that!
There are three important sections on the front page of your bill.
First up is your previous balance and payments received. This shows you how much your last bill was and the payment taken for your last bill.
Previous Balance £19.74
Payments Received £19.74
This example shows your last bill was for £19.74 and that £19.74 was paid.
Next you'll see Charges for the period. This lets you know how much you've been charged for any usage and if you have a credit you'll see this here with a minus before the number.
Charges for the period
Electricity Charges £19.81
SE Grid Savings -£5.18
Total excluding VAT £14.63 DR
VAT @ 5% £0.73
Total including VAT £15.36 DR
This example shows that your bill this month is smaller because a credit has been added.
The last thing to look at is the Balance.
Balance £15.36 DR
DR means this is how much you have to pay. If the SE Grid Savings were larger than the Electricity charges, you would see CR after the balance and have nothing to pay. The CR amount would then be at the top of your next bill.
The next pages of your bill explain your charges and savings.
